Sharp Corp. Japan released its LZ0P3770, it’s a “5-megapixel CCD camera module for mobile phones. This camera phone module is the world’s first 3x optical linear zoom with auto focus. The module is easy to install and comes with a hybrid lens (glass and plastic) to boost refraction. It measures only 21.7 mm. 22.0mm × 11.3mm × 21.7mm and will be priced at ¥20,000($172). The production of this Sharp LZ0P3770 camera module will start in January 2007 and Sharp plans an initial out put of 50,000 units per month.
