Samsung Active Matrix OLED

After Sony’s 3mm OLED, now it’s Samsung’s turn. Samsung has developed the world’s thinnest 2.2” active matrix OLED which measures only 0.53 mm thin, that’s thinner than a credit card. It is lighter of course and more energy efficient than current LCD panel. According to Samsung, this AM-OLED will be released within the next few months and will soon use in mobile phone and media devices.
The low yield percentage of 40% means that those screens will be expensive. A Samsung marketing officer said that phones that equipped with this AM-OLED will be priced $200 extra.
