Mona Lisa made from Train Tickets

October 7th, 2007

This Mona Lisa is created using recycled train tickets by the employees of the Takashimaya department store in Osaka, Japan. Over 300 employees sacrificed their breaks and free time to complete the masterpieces. They have created four world’s famous paintings which include da Vinci’s Mona Lisa and the Birth of Venus, as well as Renoir’s Dance at the Moulin de la Galette. It took them three months to complete, using over 320,000 old tickets obtained at the nearby Nankai Namba station. The painting will be display at Takashimaya until October 16.
