A student invented a system that increases iPhone Battery Life by 12x

December 26th, 2008

Atif Shamin is a PhD student at Carleton University in Canada. He has invented this ‘transmitter system on-package’ which can extend the battery life of mobile devices. He’s aiming on the connection between the circuit board and the antenna. He’s not using wire for this instead he designed a high frequency micro-transmitter and receiver which is to avoid the usual loss of power pumping bits through a wire. He created a module replacing all the wires connecting a phone’s electrical circuits and antennae, making all of them communicate wirelessly. This device make the efficiency 12 times over which greatly improving the battery life.

[...] Hmm…Interesting isn’t it? So a student from Carleton University in Canada named Atif Shamin have tweaked his iPhone and extended the battery life of iPhone up to 12x longer than regular iPhone. So the PhD student invention’s name is ‘transmitter system on-package’. He modified the connection between cell phone antenna and the circuit board. So instead of using wire, he designed a high frequency micro-transmitter and receiver which is to avoid the usual loss of power pumping bits through a wire. He created a module replacing all the wires connecting a phone’s electrical circuits and antennae, making all of them communicate wirelessly. This device make the efficiency 12 times over which greatly improving the battery life. Great, I must say. [Source] [...]
