Samsung SNE-50K ebook reader

Samsung has announced its new ebook reader for South Korea, the SNE-50K. This cute ebook reader measures only 5-inches at 6.5 ounces and it comes with a 600 x 800 resolution, 512MB of built-in memory and capable of viewing PDF files and Microsoft Office documents. A single charge will get 4320 pages of viewing. The device will be shown at CES next year, priced at $274 with unknown release date.

Tuniq is going to release its uber-high-end CPU cooler ‘Tower 120 Extreme’ next month. The cooler was introduced at the past Computex. It features three 8mm and two 6mm copper heatpipes, nickle-plated wave-shaped fins for increased air-contact area, a 120mm magnetic fluid dynamic bearing fan and supports AMD Socket AM2/AM3+ and also Intel LGA 775/1366 processors. Beside those, it also comes with bundled with a tube of TX-3 thermal compound and a fan controller. No word on pricing. Read more…

Clock made from a Recycled Bike Wheel

Recycle your bike wheel to a clock. Cool right. The above clock is made of discarded bicycle wheel. That’s a little hard to read the time with those spokes around.

“The clock movement is a high torque German quartz movement and is attached to a set of rear cassette gears to conceal the movement. The movement is attached to the wheel by hanging it off of a screw coming out of the hub, and runs on 1 AA battery, included. The wheel measures roughly 22 3/4 inches in diameter.”

Ribbon Staircase by HSH architects

Hey that’s cool, I think I will make something like that when I owned my own house. It is designed by HŠH architects. It is constructed from 10mm thick sheet metal.

The concept of a delicate rippling ribbon was chosen in view of the exposed position of the staircase in the main living area of the house.
