Facebook to Launch “Simplistic” Privacy Options in coming weeks
Looks like Facebook will be countering the backlash that it received few weeks ago. Tim Sparapani, head of public policy for Facebook, stated that they will be launching new “simplistic” privacy options for its users in the coming few weeks.
“Now we’ve heard from our users that we have gotten a little bit complex,” said Sparapani in an interview. “I think we are going to work on that. We are going to be providing options for users who want simplistic bands of privacy that they can choose from and I think we will see that in the next couple of weeks.”
While nobody knows what new tricks are they up to, one thing for sure is that we can expect more broad options for us to control our privacy and our information. Currently, new users’ profiles are set at default to be ‘very public’, inclusive of their profile information being shared with ither online services such as Yelp and Pandora.
