AUO shows off transparent multitouch display

June 12th, 2010

Remember how Tony Stark uses a transparent PDA device to hack the courthouse’s computer in Iron Man 2? I really fancy that technology, and surprising enough, we are now getting very close to such advancement. AUO is a technology corporate that has been pioneer in making absolutely stunning display technology. Lately they have displayed another revolutionary product at Display Taiwan 2010 – showing off a 2.4-inch transparent multitouch display.

AUO stated that they are targeting their display at GPS devices, though it does seemed fit to include such marvelously cool display into handheld devices, since the screen seemed to fully support multitouch function, though not that efficient yet. As you can see in the video, the zooming of the multitouch is not that smooth, and there seemed to be slight lag when flipping the pictures. Though, this seemed to be a small problem. With a simple tweak and optimization in the OS used it can be improved vastly.

I think non, though how opaque others can view the backside, albeit flipped, is really clueless to me.

may i know what type of ‘security’ are you refering to?
