Sony showcases 3D PS3 in E3, future looks promising.

Sony announced that all existing PS3 will be able to run 3D games with an update to the firmware. One still needs a 3D-enabled TV to play 3D on PS3, but it’s getting a great momentum in this niche market.
There aren’t many developers who had jumped onto the 3D wagon. But Gizmodo has been on there live to witness some demos of 3D games running on PS3, albeit with a glass. Sometimes I seriously think that it’s not gonna make a hit at all, as there’s a lot of people wearing glasses. Glasses on glasses? Not a good idea at all. What more gaming on 6 hours or more wearing those bulky glasses, it’s gonna float. But we will see, we will.
Killzone 3, the biggest 3D draw for the PS3 in the next year, looked amazing. The bullets, sparks, random debris and enemies all looked different degrees of 3D. The effect was engaging, not off-putting, but also magnifies whatever nausea you experience (if you experience it) with first person shooters.

Driving games were slightly different. If you have a car in front of you, like in Motorstorm, the 3D looked great. If you didn’t, more like a first-person driving experience where there was no real frame of reference, the 3D was much less pronounced. But in Motorstorm, it again, added to the experience.
