Not to miss out on the fun of 3D, Lenovo had trademark a new technology called “Tridef”, which consists of the display, glasses and the software. With Tridef, users can watch 3D videos and photos using Tridef Media Player and Tridef Photo Transformer, which converts photos and videos to 3D.

To juice up the Tridef 3D experience in the IdeaPad Y560d, Lenovo is throwing some big guns into the system. The notebook will come with ATI’s Radeon HD 5730 graphic to put up a good display experience. What’s more, there’s JBL speakers implant into the notebook, with Dolby Home Theater design. Very much like how Toshiba has Harman & Carbon speakers and HP got Altec Lansing speakers in their mobile systems. There’s also an option for Intel’s HD graphic discreet card.

The hardware itself is also not to be left out. Customers can choose from a range of Intel Arrandale processors, starting from Core i3-330M up to the uber powerful Core i7-840QM CPU, as well as support of RAM up to 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3. There’s even option in the HDD room, as users can choose from low power 750GB HDD (5400rpm) or high speed 500GB HDD (7200rpm), or op for the “Hybrid drive” option of 32GB or 64GB SSD.

Other specs of the notebook is rather standard, like integrated 1.3MP webcam, eSATA combo port, 3 x USB2.0 ports, 6-in-1 card reader, ExpressCard/34 slot, headphones/mic ports, and VGA and HDMI output. For network options there build-in Gigabit Ethernet and 802.11n Wi-Fi. Bluetooth and Blur-ray drive are optional. For such a decent and freshly new notebook, it’s a let-down that Lenovo is not providing USB3.0 ports.
