RIM, Google, and Apple also suspects of Palm bidding warzone

This is an interesting piece of news. Now when HP bought Palm few months ago, not much was revealed regarding the news. But now some tidbits have surfaced onto the new. BusinessInsider’s Dan Formmer has sourced some delicious info, that before HP acquired Palm, there are few others that also joined in the tea time discussion. Few names, but big names nevertheless. RIM, Google, and Apple were all involved in the bidding war of Palm.
RIM would be an obvious contender, as both company pioneered the QWERTY-style smartphone platform. RIM was supposed to be in the favor, but it failed to increase its offer during the last minute. Google was never serious in bidding for the company, perhaps only joining in to have a cat-fight with Apple. Well at least it’s better to focus on the Android instead of tinkering with the webOS platform. Apple however, was keen to join in the QWERTY market, and was also interested to keep the platform alive, and improve the webOS. Perhaps they were thinking of a QWERTY version of the iPhone to wage war with RIM. But who knows, since that’s no longer possible, unless HP decided to let go of Palm all of a sudden.
