Shown above is a 3M M2256PW display. Yes the code’s messy and hard to pronounce in fast, but that’s a ten-finger supported multitouch display panel, developed specially for Windows 7 slate research. There’s been no news regarding Microsoft partnering with Swype on anything, but it does come to understanding that it’s a no shocker if Microsoft does partner up with Swype, seeing that they are indeed trying to penetrate into the slate market with a Windows 7 Tablet Edition. The integration of Swype keyboard into Windows 7 slate would be a huge boost in practical functionality, and coolness points too. We can easily assume that the upcoming Windows Mobile 7 might also have this Swype keyboard in it too. But let’s cross our fingers for this shall we?

About Swype:

Swype is a company that founded the Swype Keyboard, which provides a faster and easier way to input text on any screen. With one continuous finger or stylus motion across the screen keyboard, the patented technology enables users to input words faster and easier than other data input methods—at over 40 words per minute. The application is designed to work across a variety of devices such as phones, tablets, game consoles, kiosks, televisions, virtual screens and more.

The word “quick” was generated from tracing the path shown above in a fraction of a second, by roughly aiming to pass through the letters of the word. A key advantage to Swype is that there is no need to be very accurate, enabling very rapid text entry.
