Virtual wall that moves with the wind

There are so many artists out there in this world, and many of them failed badly, unless their art totally doesn’t mean anything, and makes people ponder. That’s when their art sells well. Now what’s cool about art is when you inject some technology into the art. A good example would be this upcoming Kinetic Wall, by Ned Kahn for the Brisbane Airport, in collaboration with Urban Art Projects.
This so called wall is made with 250,000 aluminium panels that are sensitive to wind currents. The 53,819 square-feet surface (5,000 square meters) looks like a vertical lake. Scheduled to complete in 2011, it’s to cover up the ugly side of the domestic terminal short-term parking building of the airport. The video below is not the actual thing, but a similar project by Ned Kahn, just to illustrate the surreal experience. This is not the 1st such project by him, as in 2006 he’s also dressed a building with similar artistic technology to create virtual clouds
