Motorola is accusing rival Huawei Technologies of conspiring with former
employees to steal trade secrets. Their statement claims that a former staff engineer shared data regarding a new transceiver (among other Motorola tech) with the founder of Huawei. Documents detailing Motorola product specs and labelled as “confidential” were recovered in e-mail posts from the engineer’s personal computer. The lawsuit also says that Huawei could have begun receiving information as early as 2001.
