Motorola fixed flickering Droid X display problem

Last Thursday, the Motorola “flying” Droid X was launched in the States, and soon after, a number of users have reported that their new 4-inch smartphone had flickering displays and some other display issues. On Tuesday, Motorola and Verizon (US Carrier for Droid X) released an official press statement and a fix for all Droid X users that have such issues.
“Verizon Wireless and Motorola are aware of a very small number of DROID X units that have experienced a flickering or banding display. Motorola has resolved the issue and is continuing to ship the phones. Any consumer who experiences a flickering or banding display should contact a Motorola customer support center or Verizon Wireless.”
With the fix added, the Droid X will continue to ship. The statement refers to “a very small number” of units with the problem, a probability of defect chips, a figure that a Verizon spokeswoman said amounts to “less than one-tenth of 1%, but I can’t share the number.”
It took Motorola 5 days ‘only’ to fix this problem, in comparison to Apple’s antenna issues. Though the numbers of Droid X sold in comparison to Apple’s iPhone 4 is also a huge difference. But somehow this shows me the attitude of Steve Jobs towards his ‘Apple fanbois’.
