New Cinema Display for your viewing pleasure

The ‘now-considered-legacy’ 24-inch and 30-inch Cinema Display from Apple has been ripped of their lineage to make way for the new generations. Today has been a frenzy day for Apple, as they updated their Apple Store with some new goodies for you fanbois and fangals. The new 27-inch LED Cinema Display is one of them.
The new, larger 27-inch LED Cinema Display features a beautiful 16:9 aspect ratio edge-to-edge glass display with 2560 x 1440 resolutions on an aluminium stand with an adjustable hinge that makes tilting the display virtually effortless, superb for viewing HD content movies. The LED Cinema Display has vivid colors and superbly high contrast and uses the premium IPS display (in-plane switching) to deliver vivid image throughout an ultra-wide 178 degree viewing angle.

Designed as the perfect chum for any Mac notebook or desktop, the 27-inch display includes an integrated iSight video camera for video conferencing, an integrated MagSafe charger to charge your Mac notebooks, built-in Mini DisplayPort with audio input, and three USB 2.0 port to allow customers to charge their iPhone® or iPod® even when they take their MacBook with them.
The new LED Cinema Display now comprises a new ambient light sensor which automatically amends the display brightness based on external lighting conditions and uses only as much energy essentially to deliver optimum viewing pleasure. Made with mercury-free LED technology, arsenic-free glass and highly recyclable materials, the LED Cinema Display meets stringent Energy Star 5.0 requirements and achieves EPEAT Gold status*. The new display holds no brominated flame retardants and all cables and components are PVC-free.

The new 27-inch Cinema Display is yours for a ‘cheap’ $999. Now why is this considered cheap? That’s because Dell’s equivalent U2711 27-inch IPS panel monitor comes at a hefty $1,099. So I guess that’s a good excuse for the fanbois out there to justify Apple’s premium logo products.
