There’s been many solar research models lately. Many are trying to get aircrafts to fly around without nothing but power from the sun. This is actually a remarkable research, as who knows, in the future we might be flying around using cute looking aircraft powered by solar energy. Totally green indeed! It’s a great thing to know that everyone’s getting into the ‘save Mother Nature’ move.
The Zephyr drone from QinetiQ will be running around again, with a new record that it hopes to blow away. 7 days in the air, and counting! The craft, which took off from the Army’s Yuma Proving Ground in Arizona last Friday, is being billed as an “eternal aircraft,” one that can stay in the air for extremely lengthy periods of time for use as recon and communications platforms. The earlier world record for a UAV was set by NASA’s Global Hawk, which stayed aloft for 30 hours and 24 minutes.

The knife shown above is a handmade knife that is shaped entirely from fiber optic glass. Yes, the fiber optic that gave us blazing fast internet. It’s made by using a method known as knapping, a throwback method of shaping stones into useful tools.
Somehow the knife looks like a Jade-made knife from the ancient Chinese century emperor. But the handle sure is ugly for such an exotic $165 knife.

Mr. Jeremy Hopkins sure has a creative idea on developing phones, and integrating funky design cues along the way. The Nokia Kinetic Concept sure is a looker, but when you look at its back, the bulky ass just killed the design. Perhaps taking a cue from those inflatable clown punching bags that would always right themselves thanks to a special weight, Mr. Hopkins has designed the Nokia Kinetic to do pretty much the exact same thing when you wanna reject a call. Just push them like a doll, and the call will get rejected, and the phone is ready to get your next caller again when it swings back to the idle position. Lame design right? The concept might look sleek, but with a bottom so huge, it sure won’t fit inside my snug pocket.

Yes the Japanese might have built a gigantic Life-Size Gundam, but the Chinese doesn’t seemed very pleased. I guess it’s very VERY obvious where the Chinese stands when the great war of the clash of the robo-titans immense. And it’s obvious who the Chinese’s ally is.
The Leader of the Autobot and the last survival of the Prime Race is sadly… made out of recycled car parts. This Transformers icon stands nearly 40 feet tall and weighs 6 tonnes. All that weight comes from five truckloads of parts, to put Optimus Prime together.
The colossus dwarfs puny humans at the new Green Dream Park, located northwest of Beijing’s “Bird’s Nest” National Stadium used for the 2008 Olympic Games. Opening Friday, the park has environment-themed exhibits such as a super-sized reclining sofa made of recycled paper and designed to get Chinese to think green.

This is something that is actually pretty amazing, if you think about it. A resource that won’t probably run out of juice. Brother Industries (yes the Brother that made your printer) has developed an AA battery sized generator powered by vibration, which can be used to charge another AA battery.

Despite the popularity and demand of the black iPhone 4, I bet there’s even more that’s been holding their paws to grapple their wallet, as they wait patiently for that sexy white iPhone 4, like me. But despite the previous ‘promise’ of the white iPhone 4 coming in the mid of July, which is right about now, the release has been pushed back yet again to the end of July. Well, 2 more weeks is all they ask for, so why not? But hopefully Apple will take the sweet 2 weeks and get rid of that hindrance of an antenna issue.
