New motorized wheel shoes coming your way, if it gets approved.

Heeleys have been a hit trend few years ago, but now hardly anyone is cruising around town with them, besides Usher using them for dancing. However, there’s a new kid on the block to play with, when it gets released that is. It’s the motorized shoes from Treadways. Apparently the designer has entered them into the annual James Dyson Awards, and if successful could be put on the market. I sure wan to have a test run on these wheels.

Zemno’s DeskBook Pro dock compliments your MacBook’s ports for a price.

It has been many years since notebooks are invented. But only recent times did notebook sales surpass desktop. These few years, the sales of notebooks have been sky high, surpassing its counterpart desktop. What’s more with the introduction of netbooks last year? More and more people are getting notebooks and netbooks for its compactness and portability, yet having near identical functions of a desktop. But there’s always the lack of ample storage and copious amounts of USB and other ports from notebooks. That’s where docking stations come in.

Introducing the DeskBook Pro dock from Zemno, it gives you all the necessary ports, and some extras, for the price of another ‘reasonably’ priced Windows-based notebook. Targeted at Apple MacBook users, but is compatible with nearly every notebook around the world.

The Queen following the bling-bling trend with 3D glasses.

The Queen following the bling-bling trend with 3D glasses.

I guess her majesty also doesn’t like the big and bulky 3D glasses provided by cinemas. What’s more, they’re always smelly and blurry, making me dizzy every time I wear ‘em. With that, her majesty’s dresser, Angela Kelly decided to give the Britain’s Queen a pair of bling-bling glasses to wear during her visit to the Toronto’s Pinewood Studios. But those aren’t your ordinary bling-bling glasses by those rappers. They’re Q-emblazoned 3D glasses decorated with some deliciously sparkling Swarovski crystals. Talk about fashion trend the luxury way. I believe these will be out in the market soon, by some luxury brand. Louis Vuitton 3G glasses anyone?

Russian Roverpad has a heart of a Tegra, 5 models to rule them all.

I thought the Russians are only good at tennis and warheads, but apparently their Silicon Valley is getting bumped up very nicely. A month ago Taiwanese companies are throwing all their slates into the Computex Expo, and suddenly the wind died down. But now, the Russian computer Rover Computer is ready to mingle around the slate market with not one, not two, but five new models for nearly everyone to dance around.

eSATA to USB2.0/3.0 adapter for those not upgrading.

eSATA products are getting rare these days, obviously due to the superiority of the USB3.0. But we still see eSATA ports on many boards and notebooks coming as a combo port with USB2.0. Thankfully for those who doesn’t have eSATA supported, Addonics has released an adapter just for you. This is the new eSATA to USB 3.0 which has near similar speeds as the eSATA. What’s more, it’s so cheap at $34, that you won’t even break a sweat buying it.

Expresso GPS, a SatNav for dads.

Expresso GPS, a SatNav for dads

It’s common to find GPS systems for cars, but we’ve also seen a few that’s specially made for unkers playing golf. As the golf course is so huge, they might get lost, who knows? But now, this Expresso GPS (note: undrinkable) will show the unkers which holes they should hit (at the golf course mind you!), and which way to go home when the missus called.

Running on a customized operating system, it’s linked to a huge chunk database with over 32,500 golf courses globally. That’s a good thing, if your mistress is half way at the other side of the globe. The operating system is called iGolf, so don’t be surprised if Apple goes buying this company and sell the ‘i-Expresso’ 10 times more! You heard it 1st at 2dayblog.com! Even comes with the utility to map your own course if your local ones aren’t listed, as your mistress might be in a totally deserted island with nobody other than a million-dollar chalet and a golf course. The Expresso GPS also shows 2D and 3D way-points, so at least it’s not very dated.

Kingston’s USB3.0 ext. HDD delayed, sad case for speedy nerds.

Need for Speed Hot Pursuit

Kingston’s ‘HyperX’ products have always been marketed as speed kings in hardware and gadget world. Their famous ‘Data Travelers’ & ‘Hyper X Rams’ have always live up to expectation. But now big fans of Kingston will need to hold their horse on this new product.

The upcoming external SSD ‘HyperX’, which is an external hard disk equipped with SSD and USB3.0 interface, has been delayed until September, instead of the scheduled August release. This pocket-sized zippy SSD is promised with read and write speeds of 195MB/s and 160MB/s respectively. That’s surely one nice external to store all my mobile HD clips. Think about the time saved while sharing files among friends. However, typical SSD, the size would only consist of 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB respectively. There’s no pricing yet at the moment, but we’ll surely update you with it as we go along. Time to get yourself a USB3.0 compatible motherboard. Those China-made adapters sure are untrustworthy. Well then, wake me up when September comes.

French flavored Apple store goes live in Paris

French flavored Apple store goes live in Paris

Unlike typical Apple store with its chrome and glass windows, this new concept store by Apple is actually the old bank in Paris. It’s good to know that Apple has kept all those French looks nicely intact. All the wooden stairs and wrought-iron railings, to the marble columns and mosaic tile floor. Of kush, some reinforcement was made to further strengthen the building, besides renovations to add in those techy displays and counters and sofa. Honestly this has to be the most elegant concept store I’ve ever seen.

Desktop Earth: The Earth on your desktop, real time updated.

Desktop Earth is an app that lets you have generated wallpapers from satellite imagery of our home planet. It runs from the system tray, continuously updating the wallpaper to reflect changes in sunlight, foliage and even snow cover. Automatically resizing images to match the Windows PC’s native resolution and reduce the load on the system, Desktop Earth takes care of itself for the most part. However, the user can control the level of cloud cover, which time zone the wallpaper is centered on, if night lights appear on the dark areas of the satellite images, and of course, the setting for updates.

Needless to say, Desktop Earth requires a permanent internet connection. It won’t update if you get offline. the utility can be downloaded here.
