Asus preparing a tamer Rampage X58 board with some teaser photo

It has been a tradition for Asus to release two versions of their Republic of Gamers (RoG) motherboards based on one Intel chipset. Since the Rampage III Extreme has been released, it’s no surprise that the ‘Formula’ edition would follow up.

The Rampage III Formula will still have the SupremeFX X-Fi 2 chipset to provide utmost clarity for your gaming pleasure, as well as Digital VRM to help stabilize your overclocking experience.

Here you can see that there’s the Intel Ethernet, which is a great addition to offload network stress from the CPU to a dedicated chip.

You’ll still be able to have multiple VGA support for your SLI or Crossfire setups, but PCI-E X16 slots are now down to only three. Pricing has yet to be announced though.
