MSI Wind Top AE2280 is your perfect computer for everyone in the family

Need for Speed Hot Pursuit

I usually don’t quite trust nettops and All-in-One computers. Besides the iMac, the rest in the market pretty much are’ scamlicious’ products that run on netbook-like low-spec hardware. But this time around, manufacturers have seemed to solve some problems putting decent specs into these miniature computers. Things like heat and size have become matters of yesteryear as build-process goes down to 32nm or lower which removes heat and size issues. Though, some of the hardware is still pretty ‘weak’, but not this MSI Wind Top AE2280.

It comes with a choice of either Intel Core i3-530/540 or i5-650 processor, which is rather decent, considering majority of the people in this world is either still running on Core 2 Duos or even Pentium 4. Graphic wise, you’ll not be let down by this ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5430 or HD 5730 chip. No problem running some simpleton games or Full-HD movies on this baby, which is equipped with a 1920 x 1080 multi-touch 16:9 display, which is perfect for watching HD movies, besides browsing Amazon and eBay. Other hardware seemed decent too, like a whooping 8GB RAM, 640GB hard drive, and a 1.3-Megapixel webcam for your sister to camwhore on. There’s the slim slot-in DVD writer, a 6-in1 card reader for your convenience, and an optional TV tuner. There are even two 5W hi-fi speakers in there, though I won’t expect much from these speakers. The Wi-Fi built-in would come in handy to place this thing at anywhere in the house and yet having Internet access. The Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OS would justify the 8GB memory if you’re wondering. For a decent price of $949.99, MSI sure has thrown in nearly everything into the Wind Top, except for the kitchen sink. I can see how flexible this thing can be, for nearly everyone in the family, even grandma. Oh and did I mention that it supports touchscreen? Yummy!
