The Mutewatch does have a screen, but the hidden screen only activate with you swipe to scroll between the timer, clock, and alarm. Rather inconvenient somehow. But it also features a silent alarm in the form of a vibrating wristband. Priced at 199 Euros or around $260, the Mutewatch is currently available in white, gray or red.

Something that seemed rather impractical, but yet you’d never know that there’s actually people who need these kind of genius inventions in this world. The Ainex HUB-03 is a slot-in add-on for your hunger, or fetish of USB ports. It provides a dozen of USB ports onto your PC through the hard drive bay, and is capable to power up larger devices such as external HDDs and webcams. It is a self-powered hub too. The HUB-03 is compatible with Windows XP, Vista, and 7, and it goes on sale in August, though no word on pricing is given, yet.

It’s been quite some time since Sennheiser refreshes their headphones line-ups, especially the wireless headphones. Now their new RS-series comes with Kleer transmission technology to product movie theatre quality audio via uncompressed wireless transmission. These headphones operate without compression and can be sued without any audio detail loss. Great stuff from Sennheiser as always. Their new wireless headphones will allow you to move around while watching your HD movies or enjoying cable-free music at a radius of up to 328 feet (RS 160 up to 65 feet, RS 170 up to 262 feet and RS 180 up to 328 feet). Designer Shyam Balasubramanian has developed a multifunctional computer that allows great flexibility to enhance the experience of the user. Known as the Chip Tablet PC, this multi-use computer is designed to be used as a desktop, a laptop and tablet computer, though I can’t see how that is possible. The aim is to provide an optimum user experience by giving flexibility and compact design that will suite the user’s purpose and needs. The Chip Tablet PC concept has a removable screen that separates from PC to become a tablet for personal use. The keyboard layout is designed identically to those like a notebook, with a touchpad and no numerical pad. The display seemed to be too thick to even be called portable. The display seemed to be identical to a desktop’s design, but I doubt that with such size, you can’t actually fit ‘desktop-spec’ hardware into it. It doesn’t seem practical by my standard.

The new Casio LW-S200HT Tough Solar watch is specially designed for sporty women, who like to stay fit and healthy through jogging. As part of the Casio Collection Series, the fitness watch comes with a display illumination that ensures that the face can be easily read at the press of a button, even as darkness falls. Sounds rather typical actually. Anyway, the watch also features five alarm slots, a snooze function for your alarm, and world time for 48 cities. The integrated database function Lap Memory ensures the logged stop and lap times, and intervening periods can be stored together with the date, enabling comparison at a later stage, and perhaps for you to create a chart of your exercise routine, which I really love. The memory features enough space for 120 data sets (about 3 months record), ensuring that you always keep your running performance in sight. The Casio LW-S200HT Tough Solar watch retails for 5,700 Yen ($66) in Japan.

Saudi Arabia will test what it is billing as the world’s largest clock in the holy city of Mecca during the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan which started few days ago. The four-faced clock pylon will top a colossal skyscraper that when completed will be around 1,970 feet (600 meters) tall, trailing only behind the tallest in the world, Dubai’s Burj Khalifa (formerly known as Burj Dubai) which sits at 2,717 feet (828 meters). Buffalo has had a long list of products when it comes to external hard drives. Their new entry however, would easily sell itself as an Eco-Friendly product. Measuring 39mm x 123mm x 189mm and weighing 1kg, the HD-LBU2 is the latest addition to Buffalo’s extensive external hard drive line-up. This new 3.5-inch drive has a USB 2.0 interface and can be installed horizontally or vertically. The important feature is that, the drive also comes bundled with the Eco Manager software for reducing power consumption by lowering the rotary speed of the platters when idle. The HD-LBU2 will go on sale in mid-August in four different storage capacities including 500GB ($133), 1TB ($169), 1.5TB ($219) and 2TB ($269).

In a world where everyone’s starting to pick up digital reading frenzy, Asus will join in the fun for the ‘lulz’ with their new 8-inch e-Book Reader. Asustek Computer will release a new e-book reader with an 8-inch 64-grayscale TFT-LCD screen without backlight in October 2010 (ouch, you’ll need a torchlight when it’s dark). The LCD panel of Asustek’s e-book reader is provided by Chimei Innolux (CMI), which makes it with a special process to improve reflection, but is still no match for e-paper in terms of contrast ratio and reflective performance. The display also supports a fast response time. The Asus 8-inch e-Reader will retail at below $599. Asustek is also facing a difficult fight as it currently has no content support for its e-book reader and the price is much higher than the US$100-200 for current mainstream e-book readers. Sadly that’s the only spec given, so stay tuned for more.
