Sony Ericsson to introduce Android 3.0 gaming platform and PSP Go-like smartphone

There hasn’t been a big participation when it comes to Android’s gaming platform. Most apps that show up in the app store are daily-use or work-related, which lacks the fun-factor. The number of games for Android has been small when compared to the iOS platform. Bu that’s about to change, as Sony gets its ‘1337 skillz’ onto the green monsters’ home. Engadget has news that says that ‘the company is actively and heavily developing a brand new gaming platform, ecosystem, and device which are already in the late stages of planning’. Perhaps this is where those game developing companies bought by Google steps in. What’s more, it’s going to be Android 3.0! Read more…

The most confusing GPS app for Android

This GPS app doesn’t tell you the direction, doesn’t show you a map, and no extra features like ‘Points of interest’. All it does is show you how far you’re from your destination in a ‘trench’ like mode, and as you get nearer to it, the ‘trench’ gets bigger. Totally Star Wars stuff. This X-Wing Edition GPS by developer Christopher Caleb also has some additional funky voices stored, like R2-D2 sounds and Rebel Alliance pilot chatter. And when you’ve reach your destination and no longer traveling at light speed, you can simply turn it into a clock! How thoughtful!

Apple releases iOS 4.0.2 for iPhone and 3.2.2 for iPad, fixes PDF vulnerability

Well as Apple has promised, here’s the quick update to their iOS’s vulnerability of the PDF loophole. Apple’s just released iOS 4.0.2 for the iPhone and 3.2.2 for the iPad, both of which close the PDF exploit used by JailbreakMe. Bad news for those haven’t jailbreak. Better don’t update your iOS 4 if you still wish to jailbreak your iPhone. Just don’t simply open PDF files if you don’t update it. That appears to be the only change – it’s definitely good news for anyone concerned about iOS’s safety. Hopefully the Dev-Team can find another means to jailbreak the iPhone 4.

Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood developers possessed by Hoods

August 12th, 2010

You’ll know you’ve played too much when you wear what you played to work. I’ve been a massive fan of the Assassin’s Creed game ever since the first instalment came out. The freedom of running and hoping around like a monkey with the ‘awsm’ graphic just really amaze me. Now you can see what the developing teams have to say about the upcoming Multiplayer-version, with hoodies!

Sony announces new NWZ-E350 Walkman

Sony’s has released their new E-Series Walkman, the E350. Available in blue, red or black, these Walkmans come in both 4GB and 8GB variants, and are able to offer up to 50 hours of music playback, and up to ten hours of video, and support a variety of formats. Other than that – well, there’s not much more than that, unless you’re hoping for a laser ala James Bond, then you’ll be very much let down. If you can’t wait to get your hands on one, well you’ll have to wait until next month, but it’ll cost you $70 for the 4GB and $80 for the 8GB version once available at Sony Style. Read more…

New iPod Touch coming in a few weeks, with Retina Display

Daring Fireball’s John Gruber has this to say: “if you wait a few weeks to buy the Touch, you’ll get one with a Retina Display and dual cameras.” The man’s not one to fool around with such matters, so we tend to believe him here. It also helps that nothing he’s saying would be really surprising, since many have seen the Touch that will come with a front facing camera. But a Retina Display does surprise me. So, this time the Touch will again be an iPhone knock-down with no SIM slot. I wonder if there’s the 5-Megapixel camera too. Perhaps Apple would market the Touch as a ‘Back to school’ product?

The world’s so-called fastest 3D short-film

Tiff Needel lately stopped by the Isle of Man for a visit, and to drop in on some sort of a high-budget commercial shoot. A commercial shot for whom? The Silver Arrows car company of kush. It turns out that Mercedes-Benz wanted to nab the title of the world’s fastest 3D film simply by shooting David Coulthard as he pushed the company’s new gullwing supercar to 167mph. Though, this is not the 3D that you’d hope for. Read more…
