Samsung’s new ‘hybrid’ TV is for your everything!

The new Samsung FX2490HD is a 24” LED Backlight Monitor, not your real LED panel monitor. But still it is fully packed to give a good fight for those budget crowds. Integrated TV Tuner, PIP, USB File Viewer (Photo, Music, Video), 7.1 channel Dolby Digital and DTS. You name it, they got it. With a mere 24-inch display, Samsung seemed to target this for console players and computer users. Seriously, this is very ideal for people looking for cheaper alternative to play with their PlayStation 3, and yet still able to plug into their computer.

Google finally enables same-browser, multiple accounts Gmail sign-in

Google finally enables same-browser, multiple accounts Gmail sign-in

Google has quietly enables some of the Gmail users to sign into more than one Gmail account within the same browser. Now you don’t have to fire up another browser when your mum wants to use your computer to check her mail all of a sudden. Now it’s as easy as selecting the option and tagging a drop-down menu. Sadly, committing to this has its drawbacks: Offline Gmail and Calendar will both be disabled (and this doesn’t work on mobile devices), and there’s no time table as to when those kinks will be worked out. For now, most of you will have time to think it over as you wait for your account(s) to be activated. But surely I’d be happily waiting for mine to get enabled.

BlackBerry Torch lighted. Yours for $200 with a contract.

RIM has announced that their latest BlackBerry Bold, the Torch (aka 9800) will be launched in August. The Torch is a slide-smartphone with a hidden QWERTY keyboard on a portrait slide. There’s a 5-Megapixel camera with flash (most probably LED) that’ll improve your ‘shooting-on-the-go’ experience. Other major features include Wi-Fi 802.11n support, 4GB of onboard storage, paired with a 4GB microSD card in the package. There’s a 512MB each of ROM and RAM. The Torch has a quadband 3G radio, making it a global smartphone (duh). Read more…

New advance Start-Stop system for budget cars to save our petrol

It’s getting very common nowadays to see civic cars having the ‘Start-Stop’ function. What used to be only found in exotic cars are now finding their ways into the heart of mainstream cars. Auto component supplier Continental is very well aware of that, and they’re now researching a more ‘budget minded’ system to cater to budget cars. Read more…

Toyota renews ‘Supra’ trademark, you may jizz in your pants now.

Man, what mad imaginations petrol heads worldwide will have when they hear of this news. Surely this is one of the biggest hints for the resurrection of the legendary Toyota Supra. Last month Toyota has filed, or should I say re-filed, the US Patent and Trademark Office for the ‘Supra’ name on the 16th of July 2010. The trademark previously expired in 2006, and yeah the company hasn’t done a fart about it till now. Unbelievable, right? Read more…

BlackBerry 6 goes official, omitting the “OS” initial.

After some sneaks and snacks, RIM finally removes the curtain for their latest smartphone OS, called the ‘BlackBerry 6’. Besides the obvious name change from “BlackBerry OS” to the very simple “BlackBerry,” the operating system also features numerous updates, most notably new global search functionality through internal indexing, social network aggregation (duh?), WiFi-powered media sync with your desktop music collection, and an all-new (and desperately needed) WebKit-based browser with support for HTML5.

Kingston’s new Viking-like memory cooler

Kingston’s new Viking-like memory cooler

Liquid-cooling never actually go big in computer enthusiast market. Only a handful would go over the edge to get that few ounce of boost. But Kingston plans to spread the love of liquid-cooling to the mass, well at least more enthusiast and gamers at least. They’ve just given their premium HyperX branch some refreshing drinks with the added ‘H2O’ suffix. Their approach is different from OCZ’s fin-tastic Flex series though, as the new Kingston Hyper H20 modules keep their cool via tube alone, which admittedly means more space in your case as you carefully bump their clocks up from the stock 2,000MHz (or 2,133MHz) and CL9-11-9-27 timings at 1.65 volts.

The new water-edition HyperX modules come in dual-channel (4GB) and triple-channel (6GB) flavours at $157 and $235 respectively. Maybe you should list them in your upcoming Christmas rig’s setup list of hardware choice.

This Coway Air Purifier is so cute and… cute!

This Coway Air Purifier is so cute and… cute!

Did I mention that it’s cute? Ah, nvm… Hey it changes colors too! Maybe because it’s cute, that it won a Red Dot Design Award. This Coway AP-1008 Air Purifier has a 3-stage Hepa filtration system which removes 99.5% of airborne particles. That means dust and germs all gone, nearly. There’s also an illuminated hole that will glow in a specific colour, pending on how filthy your room is. Red indicates high levels of pollution, light purple for medium pollution, purple for low pollution and blue signifies the room is 99.5% clean. Of course that last 0.5% of air pollution could very well contain those microscopic bits that eventually get you, but for $279.99 you’re greatly increasing your odds of not getting sick.
