'Page Turning' Macallan a worthy contender to iOS

What we have here is a UI for tablet, named Macallan. The name sounds sweet, but you’ve yet to see the interface that it’s providing. With a ‘page turning’ theme, this is something that UI Centric is integrating into the Windows 7 tablet OS. What’s more, it supports multitasking, which you can see in the video below. Read more…

The power of Minolta lens!

Remember when we talked about that 70 Billion-pixel photo of Budapest? Well the photo above is the robotic setup that captured the big ass photo. I guess you can say that any decent D-SLR camera would be able to pull this out. The one that is actually gorgeous would be those pair of 400mm Minolta. Porn for photography?

AppleSkin 520: iPhone or iPod Touch?

AppleSkin 520: iPhone or iPod Touch?

Here’s something that I would call “turning nothing into something”. Creative idea combined with smart engineering, that’s what the AppleSkin 520 is all about. It looked to be a very simple skin for your typical iPod Touch, but somehow there’s a place for you to slot-in your SIM card. Read more…

Try to crash this Stig-chopper please!

Try to crash this Stig-chopper please!

Some say, that his man stick always point due north, and that he’s been seen trying to assasinate Rubens Barrichello with his white shoe. Well all we know is, he’s called the Stig! But fear not, as now we can drive the mysterious BBC’s Top Gear cast member nuts in the air. Well, almost! At least we can dream that we did, with this RC Chopper that part resembles his iconic white knight helmet, and part Alien-like shape.

This indoor remote controlled mini-copter is built with an aluminum frame, and has a built in gyro that rights the toy if you tried to make the Stig crash onto lands, and you’ll get about 8-15 minutes of flight time per charge. For about $60 (plus the cost of shipping), you can fund The Stig’s “Assassinate Rubens Barrichello Masterplan” by ordering your very own Stigoopter!

Double duty hammer box looks superbly tidy

Double duty hammer box looks superbly tidy

Now this product is something that I would say ‘space efficient’. Your tool box now no longer needs a handle. But just how sturdy the box can get to hold the hammer, and how efficient the box’s lock is, is my main concern. This concept by Tim Oelker incorporates your hammer into its box’s design and gives the rest of your tools form-fitting homes. Your tool box would look good too, somehow, provided you always clean your hammer or your tool box sits in your garage for 365 days per year, your tool box’s handle will be filthily ugly.

I’m not sure how fancy you’ll find this be, but I’m very pleased with the design. At least, ‘space concious’ and tidy seemed to be the theme, which I like a lot. Sadly enough, there’s no mention of when and where I can get this, also with no price mentioned.

iPhone FaceTime creates new Prawn Industry

iPhone FaceTime creates new Prawn Industry

While Steve Jobs is trying to fight porn industry off his iDevices, some people have managed to get around with Steve’s latest product to create a new business opportunity. Yes, it was inevitable that Apple’s video chat tech would be used by the sex industry as a new way to deliver live adult content to customers.

Despite Steve Jobs’ best efforts to keep the iOS platform porn-free, the sex industry continues to find ways to work around the edges. While the iOS platform may be carefully guarded in terms of adult-oriented applications through the iTunes app store, there’s little Apple can do to make sure your phone calls, chats, videos and Safari browsing stay clean and healthy. Well truthfully it’s really none of Apple’s business as to whom you call using the iPhone. Read more…

Corsair Hydro H70 coming soon?

Corsair Hydro H70 coming soon?

The Corsair’s simple entry-level water cooling solution H50 has been around for quite some time now, and Corsair’s preparing for a new replacement that will be expected to arrive this August.

From the picture above the H70 doesn’t differ much from its older brother, besides some slight difference in dimensions. The CPU plate seemed to be thinner now, while the radiator is slightly thicker. However, Corsair is said to have greatly increased its FPI (fins per inch) for the radiator, which will obviously result in better cooling capacity. Read more…
