Well not really, but they’ll be able to read your mind, soon! If the kids at Intel have it their way, and really made it through the century. They say that they’ll soon be able to look at a person’s brain activity and determine actual words that they’re thinking. The idea here is that the activity generated in the average person by individual words can be mapped and stored in a database, to be matched against that of someone using the thought control interface.
At the moment, results have been rather promising – an early prototype exists that can differentiate between words like screwdriver, house, and barn, by using a magnetic resonance scanner that measures something like 20,000 points in the brain. But anything like “This boy has a strong accent of mating instinct all over him” is still far in the future thought. We’ll see if this technology comes first, or the invasion of Sarah Kerrigan coming back to finish the business comes first.

The picture above seemed like the Galaxy Tab is trying to say “When I grow up, I will win the iPad”, and the iPad is grinning behind it. Samsung seemed to be getting ready to market their latest Froyo tablet, as we see more marketing materials showing up on the net. The video below previews the tablet yet again. Things that you’ll see in the video, Android 2.2, WCDMA 3G, 802.11n Wi-Fi, a 16:10 screen ratio, a front-facing camera “dedicated to video calling,” SDHC memory expandability, and a DMB tuner for those TV-crazy Koreans are all listed on the spec sheet, but you’ll be wanting to see the Galaxy Tab’s UI in motion. It looks really silky smooth on certain aspect, but not all. Nevertheless, should be able to give Apple some cause for concern. Read more…

Brabus has always associated itself with ridiculously high-performance cars from the full line of Mercedes Benz. But this time, they have somehow kitted up a car for the crazy Apple fanbois. Maybe you can call this Steve Jobs’s dream ride, in some way. Brabus has kitted up a Mercedes-Benz S-class and tune it into what they call it iBusiness. Yes, they even named it after Apple’s iDevice ideology. Read more…

Garmin recalls around a total of 1.25 million units of portable GPS units over a possible fire risk issue. Consumer Reports claims to be caused from faulty battery, making the unit to overheat while in use. There have been no injuries or property damage due to the defect thus far, and fewer than 10 units have been reported with the problem. Well we can just hope that the number will remain of that.
The recall covers Nuvi 200W, 250W, 260W and a scarce model in the 700 series that land in a certain date-code range and that use a specific type of printed circuit board design. The easiest way to tell if your unit falls under the recall is to head over to Garmin’s site and enter in your model’s serial number. If yours comes up as one of the unlucky few that has to be returned, Garmin will provide you with all of the basic mailing instructions.
Garmin does not only sell their products through retailers though. There’ve been several automakers that offer cradled Garmin products as optional in place of pricey in-dash navigation system. Thus, some of them might need to contact their customers if their Garmin products fall under the ‘unlucky’ category. Suzuki has confirmed with Autoblog that some of their models uses the said system, and will be working with regulator to deduce which vehicles that are shipped with the faulty Garmin Nuvi system, and will soon contact their customers for the recall procedures.

Don’t have a GPS navigator but wanting to go jungle tracking? Scouting around and realize your wallet’s kinda tight? No worries! Bushnell has unveiled their latest Backtrack Point 3 and Point 5 GPS trackers that’ll be affordable for you!
Using the same simple “mark a location and navigate your way back” philosophy as the original BackTrack, they measure 3.5-inch x 2.3-inch x .88-inch. The Backtrack 5 provides storage for up to 5 locations and includes altitude, temperature and time readings. The gadget also boasts a faster satellite acquisition than the original BackTrack. The BackTrack 3 measures 3.25-inch x 2.13-inch x .75-inch and offers storage for up to 3 locations. Too bad, it doesn’t offer expanded features such as temperature, clock or altitude. You can buy the Bushnell Backtrack Point 3 and Point 5 GPS trackers for $70 and $100, respectively, and get some left overs for your tracking snacks. Remember to buy some for the orang utans too!
