Google Chrome reaches 6th edition, we applaud.

When Chrome was on beta, time was crawling like snail. It seemed forever to wait for it to go gold. But now, two years have passed, and they’ve reached version 6! Google sure wasn’t messing around when they launched Chrome, and is now a fierce competitor to Microsoft’s Internet Explorer and Mozilla’s Firefox, not forgetting Opera and Co.
Google’s been hard at work, and has since then improved Chrome’s JavaScript performance by a factor of 3, and throwing in a litany of other features, like tab side-by-side view, themes mimicking Firefox, auto-translation from their famous Google Translate plugin, and bookmark and preference sync across machines. I’ve admit that I never go to Google.com anymore as I can search straight up at the address bar.
To celebrate the anniversary, the company’s uploaded version numero 6 to its stable channel, which brings a few more GUI optimizations and some bug fixes to the table. Hardware graphics acceleration isn’t yet included in the public release, but it shall join in the party soon, in some releases in the near future.
