Logitech to renew their gamepad lineup

I had to admit, that Logitech’s gamepad lineups are kinda collecting the dust at the shelves. Dated, and firmware not updated to support the latest games, and latest profiles. Now it’s obvious that Logitech’s aware of this, and is ready to supply the shelves with some new gamepads, albeit they still look somewhat familiar.

The Logitech Gamepad F310 features a familiar, comfortable control layout and unique floating D-pad design that offers exceptional accuracy in all eight directions. The so-called ‘familiar design’ with those buttons is a dead ringer to the Xbox 360′s candy-like inputs, and the shape of the grips looks to have been lifted from there, too. Anyway, it incorporates both XInput and DirectInput technology, so it will work with any game that supports a gamepad – from today’s biggest titles to all your old favorites – even emulators like MAME. And, if you do have games that don’t support gamepads, you can install the included Profiler software and configure the gamepad to emulate keyboard and mouse actions. So now you don’t have to worry about the games not supporting the gamepad anymore.

The Rumble Gamepad F510 offers all the same features as the Gamepad F310, plus dual vibration motors, so when you’re playing games that support vibration feedback, you’ll feel every hit, crash and explosion. And it also adds comfortable rubber grips and a soft-touch bottom case, for long gameplay sessions. Kind of like the fat version of Sony’s Dual Shock controllers.

The last of the folks would be the F710, and obviously from the numbering, it’ll be the best of the block. The F710 is literally the F510 with the added wireless capability, which gives you the freedom of 2.4 GHz wireless connectivity. Just insert Logitech’s plug-and-forget Nano receiver into a USB port on your computer and leave it there. Worry-free with Logitech’s wireless engineering expertise, you get to experience the wireless convenience you want with the rock-solid performance you need.

F310 is the lowest end, selling for around $25. The Rumble Gamepad F510 offers dual vibration for about $35, and the Wireless Gamepad F710 moves up to 2.4GHz wireless and an MSRP of $50. You can pre-order yours at Logitech’s site — or just connect one of your existing Xbox 360 controllers to your PC and get the real deal.
