Toshiba seemed to be outdoing itself lately, and shall I say, nicely done!

Toshiba seemed to be outdoing itself lately, and shall I say, nicely done!

When Toshiba ships its UHS-I cards in November, they’ll be the bad boys on retail. Their lightning-speed UHS-I cards will be full-size SDHC at up to 32GB that promise maximum read and write speed of 95MB/s and 80MB/s. Their miniature version microSDHC units will do 40MB/s and 20MB/s with no problems too.

As usual, these numbers are fast and loose, so don’t be surprised if you get a good bit less in practice, like how car manufacturers test their cars’ time from 0 to 60. But you should be able to rely on well above the quoted minimum transfer rate of 10MB/s. No ludicrous early-adopter memory prices quite yet, but I’m sure you’d make hasty once Toshiba let them loose.
