Buffalo serves up USB-powered portable 3D Blu-ray player in Japan

It’s been a common practise these days to not include the ODD in the laptop to keep the sexy looks of some slim notebooks. Well, netbooks also have no ODD to begin with. But don’t you think you’re missing something sometimes? The need to watch that damn Blu-ray movie in the super-boring long-haul flight! Now Buffalo has just given you a sweet that will cheer you up, if you’re in Japan or nearby.
Their latest BP3D-PI6U2-BK is an external ODD capable of spinning your latest 3D Blu-ray Disc! Yes, you heard it right, 3D disc! With just a USB socket, you’ll be able to run this on your XP / Vista / Windows 7-equipped PC or notebook. But I’d like to remind you, that I hardly find any netbooks right now capable of running 3D 720p movies smoothly. A very gentle reminder. Well, if you’re interested, next month seemed to be the month for you to get it, with a price of ¥28,500 ($338). Well, 3D hasn’t been really cheap anyway.
