Philips’s new Cinema Platinum HDTV looks abit stretched

It’s a great thing that television screens have evolved from 4:3 ratios to 16:9 ratios for awesome widescreen gooding. But when Philips announces that their new 3D HDTV will employ the 21:9 ratios, things got a little bit stretched.
This new 58-inch Cinema 21:9 Platinum HDTV does the 3D in style, with LED backlighting and local dimming that most would love. It fits rather well with current trends’ concept living room. You can save the cost of making backlight yourself, too, thanks to the Ambilight wall illumination. Coupled with a slim, brushed matte bezel, and you’re looking at one sweet looking HDTV that does the 3D in style.
The 400Hz panel is capable of pumping out Full HD 3D and is expected to cost around €4,000 ($5,112) in Europe or £3,500 in the UK with a launch set for later this month. Well, style does come with a price.
