HP announces TouchSmart 310 and Omni100 all-in-one PCs

Do you like all-in-one PCs? They’re great stuff you know? For the missus who only uses them to exchange gossip emails, and the occasional recipe hunting when they’ve finished their Korean dramas. No Photoshop and After Effect here. Maybe some occasional Farmville, but hey this thing can run Farmville no problem. The new HP’s TouchSmart 310 and the Omni100 won’t sweat it up when you try to fire up YouTube, Facebook, Hulu, Netflix, Twitter, and even HP’s built-in HDTV tuner, as they’re custom integrated into HP’s Windows 7 touch overlay system.

The TouchSmart 310 is obviously the latest in the TouchSmart line, with a 2.8GHz Athlon II 240e dual-core CPU, 4GB of RAM, Radeon HD 4270 integrated graphics, a 1TB drive which would be enough for all your Lost and Prison Break season in Full HD. The 20-inch 1600 x 1900 touchscreen also looks so sleek! But well, the advertised price of $699 doesn’t include all those whistles and bells and stars, yet. They do include the Windows 7 touch interface version though.

The Omni100 also has that glossy 20-inch display, but it runs on HP’s MediaSmart Windows 7. The nuclear reactor in it is also slightly smaller. 1.8GHz Ahtlon 11 260u is nothing to shout out these days, but the 3GB of RAM should do enough, along with a 500GB drive, and the same Radeon HD 4270 integrated graphics. It’s also cheaper (duh!), starting at $499, though since it’s so ‘cheap’ the display panel’s quality would become rather sceptical. Well it’s out now from HP, so you should able to have a look around and see for yourself. At least this will keep the missus away from your Core i7 system.
