“I don’t speak aliens” says Earth representative

After some 48 hours of its inauguration as the first ambassador of Earth to communicate with aliens, Prof Datuk Dr Mazlan Othman ultimately denied being mandated by the United Nations (UN) for that particular purpose.
“It sounds interesting, but I have to deny it,” said Dr Mazlan via e-mail to The Guardian.
Yesterday, former director general of National Space Agency (Angkasa) became a subject of international headlines when she was suggested to be the first individual to communicate with aliens, if the presence of these entities were to be successfully validated, scientifically.
Measures to give this responsibity to Mazlan, 58, is reported to be parallel with her position as the Director of the Office for Outer Space Affairs of the United Nations Organization (UNOOSA), and headquartered in Vienna, Austria.
Despite this issue, Mazlan stressed that she will still continue to brief about the “objects that are close to Earth” in the conference.
United Nations has also denied in a report today, plans to appoint ambassador for that purpose because “the position did not exist at all”, reported BBC.
