AMD Radeon HD 6770 and 6750 spec sheets leaked, looks amazing
AMD’s Radeon HD 5k series might have claimed its glorious victory, but AMD is fast moving ahead to push out its next generation GPU. These new generation will not embrace the famous “ATI” brand moniker anymore, since AMD has already axed it. But hopefully they will live up to the reputation of the glorious ATI spirit of the dark side, as the HD 6770 and 6750 spec sheet got leaked out.
A slide detailing two flavours of the upcoming 40nm Barts chip has sprouted up from two independent sources online, and it shows some appreciable gains between generations. The new HD 67×0 cards appear manifestly speedier than their predecessors — with faster clocks, more texture units, and more ROPs — but the fun really gets going when you compare them to the HD 5870 and 5850, AMD’s previous high-end cards. Memory bandwidth and pixel filtrates are identical between the HD 6750 and 5850, while the HD 6770 even manages to beat the formerly imperious 5870 in a couple of areas. Then again these are just the midrange cards. Hopefully we will see more leaked info of the much anticipated Cayman, which is the HD6k’s flagship silicon.
