For many years now, we’ve seen printer manufacturers such as Canon and HP launching new cartridges in a year or two’s cycle, to change the print head pattern of their new printers. This is among the method used to combat imitation inks that are massively available out there, especially in Chinese markets. Imitation goods which look exactly like the real deal are not uncommon off from the eastern regions, where I’ve seen a few cases of fake thumb drives with identical packaging for fake Kingston advertising somewhat large capacity storage of 128GB (when back then was unheard of) yet only capable of storing up to 128MB of data.

Printer manufacturers, together with the Public Security Bureau are actively tightening control over imitation products which are violating trademarks, however eradication seems difficult. As a result, the printer manufacturers are publishing on their websites in certain regions information such as how to distinguish between imitation ink cartridge’s external appearance, what kind of harm will be done when using imitation ink, what kind of issues and printing results can be seen and at the same time strongly encouraging the general public to use genuine ink cartridge. Many statistics have shown that distracted driving is a big problem, not only in the States, but worldwide. JVC’s latest Wood Cone range boombox will fit just about perfect in your dorm room or studio apartment. All you need is an iPod or iPhone. Following the latest trend in the market, it would not do the company good if they don’t throw in the iDevice docking station of the i-Battlecruiser. This one too has an integrated iDevice dock on top, though there’s a standard CD tray, USB port and auxiliary input in order to fetch tunes from a plethora of sources. It’s available in four tasty colors over in Japan. Sad to say that they don’t wanna let you know the price just yet.

Michael Dell, daddy of the mighty Dell, has teased the rest of the public with a 7-inch glass that looks kind of funky. What he pulled out from his pocket is an Android tablet. Besides showing that he could fool around with that piece of glass device, Dell also announced that the smaller Streak is heading to Best Buy next month. Hopefully it’s running on Froyo, or else all fun would be spoilt.

Old camera lenses being fitted on modern DSLRs is hardly anything new, but usually it takes some hard work and craftsmanship. The end result however, is always very amazing. Same like this Canon 5D Mark II user Timor Civan’s latest bit of kit. He came into the possession of a circa 1908 Wollensak 35mm F5.0 Cine-Velostigmat lens (for a hand-cranked film camera) by way of a Russian lens technician they defined as a “mad scientist,” who also managed to fit the lens to the 5D after about six hours of work and sweat. Needless to say, the results speak for themselves. Check out the source for even more photos.
