What a 1,000 fps video would look like.

September 17th, 2010

This is an ad for Pedigree, which I assume most of you will know what that is: your best friends’ favourite food. What makes this ad unique in its own is the slow-motion recording of the dogs jumping, and catching the ‘awsm’ dog food that they loved so much. This was made possible thanks to the Phantom camera which recorded everything at 1,000fps. Read more…

Microsoft’s upcoming BlueTrack Metro mouse only $20?

Besides preparing for the funky Arc Touch mouse, Microsoft has also prepared a new and slightly plain wired mouse with their ‘famous’ BlueTrack technology. Called the Metro Mouse from Microsoft, it will join in their ‘huge’ range of BlueTrack mouse. Microsoft will surely market it as an affordable mouse for the mainstream, as it only cost $20. Left handed or right handed or both, nobody cares, as it’s going to be an all-rounder. It’s going to hit market in March, and being the cheapest in line, it will surely be a hot seller, if the rumour is true.

Microsoft demoes Twitter and Netflix apps for Windows Phone 7, releases final dev tools

At the upcoming holiday season, you might be twitting, netflixing, Flixtering, OpenTabling, and Travelocity-ing all in your brand new Windows Phone 7 handset. Well, that’s what Microsoft is hoping for. The adroit coders behind those slices of software have managed to put together enough eye candy for Microsoft to highlight them as part of its announcement that the WP7 developer tools have been finalized.

It doesn’t sound like anything dramatic has changed from the beta – which seems fitting given how close to the actual launch we now are — but a new Bing Maps Control SDK has been issued, allowing access to a cornucopia of map-related coding opportunities. Google Map’s rival?

Kingston DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0, a value SSD in a compact body

Kingston has just announced their very first USB 3.0 flash drives, in the form of a portable and compact SSD stick. Called the DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0, it is Kingston’s first dive into the superfast highway of thumb drives. The drive itself is said to be able to pull up some decent fights with speed of up to 80MB/sec and write speeds of 60MB/sec. It’s available in a trio of sizes of 16GB, 32GB and 64GB, with a five-year warranty affixed to each. Typical thumb drives’ limited warranty thought. Sadly, with all SSDs, the great news only stops at the speed. As with the price, it’s regrettably to say that such speed and capaciousness would stun you for a few second before taking out your cherry card, as these fellows are priced at $89, $138 and $270 in order of mention.
