Have you ever accidentally erased a photo, or file? Or maybe by any ill fate your memory card/system was formatted. I’ve faced similar situations and am able to value how someone feels when they lose a captured memory. Read more…

I don’t know how on earth someone would throw in three consoles to his living room. That’s like having three wives in your house! Ya, all three receive your equal love, and so shouldn’t all three get equal share of your ears? They could if you had the F540 Wireless Gaming Headset from Logitech, a new entrant that, at $150, costs about the same as the G930, but does so with mere stereo instead of 7.1 surround. Read more…

Microsoft is at it again, creating a moe anime-style character to ‘endorse’ their product. This time, it’s the Microsoft Silverlight plugin, and they have the very cute Madobe Nanami as an ambassador. Strangely this is not for the Japanese market, but instead debuting at Taiwan’s 2010 Microsoft Taiwan Tech Day, where fans can achieve specific ‘missions’ during the event to win prizes.

Yet again, we have another watch that can’t tell time, directly at least. The maze-like array you see above does tell time. But, as of Tokyoflash’s culture, the point here isn’t much about knowing time itself, but more of a ‘journey of figuring it out’. Eyes made of high-quality liquid metals trained by the best ninja masters will be able to tell time from their ‘unhelpfully similar background’. The rest of us that are not trained and holified will need to push the magical button to clear away the mist that confuses you. The watch remains a concept for now, but if enough people vote in favor of its unnecessarily convoluted design, Tokyoflash might just go ahead and build a few.

Motorola has released the new S10-HD, a wraparound set that is marketed as Bluetooth headphones rather than a BT headset. As expected, these guys are designed to withstand all sorts of sweat beads, enabling fitness junkies to keep on rockin’ in the free world regardless of how humid the surroundings may be.
The speakers are dipped in their new housing that has a new ear cushion interface and hydrophobic acoustic mesh, and silicon seals are in place around all of the electrical components. The songs will get paused ‘gently’ whenever you receive a call, and when the business is done, it’ll resume automatically. The S9-HD’s proper successor will be landing in Best Buy locations starting October 24th for $79.99.

I’ve never liked the Acer Predator’s ‘unique’ design, but somehow they’ve lived so long till now. Who’s buying them ugly PC? Anyway, Acer is still planning to continue the Predator’s life with new models. And yes, the ugly design is still there. A new design but still very ugly. Read more…

I’ve seen few speaker systems that use flat surfaces as a diaphragm before, but Franklin’s Roadie might be the first modular to splash down in the new millennium. It’s a three part system, consisting of the EVS-2000, EVS-3000 and EVS-4000. In order of mention, you’ve got a base model that assents to sources via a 3.5mm input jack, a rechargeable battery (no mention of how long thought) with SD card slot, and a bonus tweeter / equalizer. It ain’t much good in your hand since your hand ain’t flat, but slap it on a table (or any other flat surface, like a floor), or Kristen Steward’s chest, and the tunes will start to boom boom pow. Or become marginally more audible, anyway. The trio should go on sale soon for $99.99 as a bundle, while the 2000 and 3000 can be picked up by themselves for $49.99 / $79.99, respectively.

The rest of the world can only yearn in agony and sob as Konami announced Road Fighters 3D for Japan’s arcade. As you can see, that’s actual 3D complete with 3D glasses, although the game can apparently also be played in 2D if you’re not quite ready to experience “one of the most thrilling arcade racing experiences on the planet.” Keeping up with other modern arcade machines, the game also has an online multiplayer mode, and it incorporates Konami’s PASELI digital cash system so you don’t have to worry about having enough change. Look for it to hit arcades in Japan by the end of the month.

Jabra, the famous developer of Bluetooth headsets for smartphones, has announced their new Jabra Go 660, which they say is the company’s “first Bluetooth headset with Noise Blackout Extreme”. That said, that spectacular name is supposed to redefine noise cancellation for Bluetooth headsets, but thus far demos have not been very impressive. Hopefully the retail version would live up to its name, and putting background noise into yesteryear history.
In addition to the headset you get a USB Bluetooth adapter for a computer so that you can quickly go from VOIP to voicemail. The Go 660 is available now for $110, including the adapter — which of course you won’t need if your system is already down with the Bluetooth.

Onkyo is joining the Windows 7 slate tablet frenzy with three new models, which will begin shipping next month in Japan. The variation is insignificant, though each tablet is getting its own design language: the 11.6-inch and 10.1-inch TW317A5 and TW217A5 both rock 32GB SSDs, while the TW117A4 kicks it old school with a 160GB HDD. Thanks to Windows 7 Home Premium the trio will be receiving all the touch-friendly benefits the OS can offer and Atom N450 and Z530 processors as the power plant. There’s no mention of the price for any of the three though.
