Audio engineer lists top 10 songs to test a car stereo

Some people take car as… car. A simple thing that lets them move from Point A to Point B. But there’s just some other group around that’s not satisfied with just “Moving from Point A to Point B”. And you’ll just frown upon them when they throw in a £5,000 Bang & Olufsen speaker system into their ride. Yes they call it their ride, not their car. See the difference? Read more…

SteelSeries’s latest SHIFT keyboard looks awkward

Your normal keyboard can’t handle your awesome APM in Starcraft 2? Looking for some more customization options than your standard gaming keyboard offers? Then you might want to consider the new SteelSeries Shift, which can accommodate various Zboard keysets to tailor the keyboard for specific games. Those looking to take things even further can also record macros (including timed delays) directly on the keyboard itself, and you’ll naturally get plenty of gamer-friendly touches all around, including some improved rubber domes that promise a lifecycle of 15 million keystrokes per key, and even some “fine-tuned heat spots” centred around commonly used gaming keys like WASD. Look for the keyboard itself to set you back $89.99, while individual keysets will run you $24.99 per piece.

Sony says counterfeit PS3 controllers could explode, cares about your hands

Yes the price difference between genuine PS3 controller and imitation ones might be slightly big, but there’s really no need to go over the edge and buy a knock-off DualShock 3 gamepad, as the real one feels very solid compared to the knock-off version. But now, there’s another reason why you should avoid those counterfeit pads. Sony says that they might go kaboom at any time.

Yes, the company that brought us exploding laptop batteries  way back years ago says that third-party products “which are practically identical in appearance to genuine PlayStation®3 wireless controllers” may burst into flame, and as you might expect, Sony suggests that you run out to your nearest retailer and purchase the real deal instead.

HP Slate prototype running Windows 7 instead of WebOS?

HP has been talking a lot about their WebOS. Same thing goes to their much anticipated slate which has been delayed for a very long time now. But what caught in the wild seemed to be rather funny, albeit very real. The HP Slate prototype was caught running on Windows 7. The thing runs very smooth on Windows 7, with Flash working fine, and very responsive touchscreen experience. It even has a very fine boot time. Though this is just a prototype, so the end product might not actually run on Windows 7, since the 7 isn’t really designed for finger operations anyway.

Marvell unveils 1.5GHz triple-core application processor, grins at Arm

Marvell unveils 1.5GHz triple-core application processor, grins at Arm

Marvell’s chips might not be that famous when everyone’s talking about Snapdragon and the Cortex A8, but they’ve decided to blow ‘em away this time. Their new processor is considered to be power, so powerful that it puts the Hummingbird to shame. The new Armada 628 application processor delivers three cores, two of which crank along at 1.5GHz. That’s about 200 million triangles per second, compared to the Hummingbird’s 90 million.

The 628 is capable of 1080p 3D video and graphics (meaning it can sustain two simultaneous 1080p streams, one for each eye) and pledges to have an “ultra” low power profile: more than 10 hours of 1080p video or 140 hours of music playback are on offer. If that’s not enough, it’s also the first mobile SOC to include USB 3.0 support, adding yet another speed crown to its bulging resume. Now, all we can do is drool and wait. And oh yeah, I’m sure it won’t run Crysis, if you really want to know.

Will Justin Bieber run away with this DTV Shredder?

This is a Segway with a steroid. Can someone tell the US Army that they’re already very expensive to maintain? The equipment that they carry total up to more than how much my car would cost. Now there’s another new toy that may join in their crazy list. A defence contractor by the name of BPG-Works has gone and experiment with the Segway, and like how Einstein would do it, the Segway got Frankenstein-ed.

Spooky newspaper in India speaks Volkswagen language
