Samsung and Sony Ericsson to ditch Symbian platform

Yes, Nokia’s latest N8 and E7 does use the Symbian^3 OS, but Nokia has said that they’re going to leave it for their low-end lineup budget phones, and their N-series phones will later ditch Symbian for MeeGo. Samsung has also ‘unofficially’ declared their departure from Symbian platform as they had emailed developers that they will close down their Symbian forum and stop support for Symbian phones. Sony Ericsson did not mention it officially too, but we all know what Aldo Liguori, their spokesperson means when he said “we have no plans for the time being to develop any new products to the Symbian Foundation standard or operating system.” Time to say “nananana, hey heyhey, good bye” to Symbian?
