ZTE announces 7-inch ZTE Light Android tablet

ZTE has already got one Racer Android handset, but it’s now ready to venture into the crowded slate market, with their new 7-inch ZTE Light tablet. Basics stuff you can expect from this little ZTE baby. Android 2.1, WiFi, Bluetooth, 3G connectivity, built-in GPS, an SD card slot for expansion, and a promised ten hours of battery life, thought that seemed skeptical. One surprise is the custom Android skin, if you notice in the picture. There’s even a 3-Megapixel camera at the back.

The ZTE Light tablet also supports voice calling on dual band UMTS 2100 MHZ/900 MHZ and internet access on HSUPA network with a download speed of up to 7.2 Mbps and an upload speed of up to 5.76 Mbps. The device packs smart processing capabilities as it features 512 Mb RAM and 512 Mb ROM and is based on the Android 2.1 Operating System.

Not sure if that’s just illustration or not. There’s no word on pricing just yet, but the tablet is apparently now on display at the Beijing Exhibition and should be launching soon.
