Super TFT vs Super AMOLED

At the left corner, we have the Samsung Wave II on a Super Clear LCD TFT (Super TFT). And at the right corner, we have the Samsung Galaxy S on a SuperAMOLED. This simple review is provided by ‘mobile-review’ from Russia. Both are from the Korea screen expert, so let’s have a look.

One is a Bada-powered handset from Samsung, and another is the company’s top of the line Galaxy S, so this will be quite fair. The 3.7-inch display on the Wave II holds its own admirably against the hyper-advanced Super AMOLED panel alongside it, but it does seem to have a tendency to introduce a slight yellow hue into images, as illustrated above. The Super TFT panel seemed to be rather impressive, though it loses out to ‘energy efficiency’ compared to the Super AMOLED. Sadly there’s no comparison under sunlight to compare the viewing capability under strong sunlight.

To note, both phones comes with Samsung’s DNIe (digital natural image engine) which has pre-processing technology used in LCD TV sets. This means that what you see is already the best possible result for particular conditions and picture. So I guess there’s no feeling down if a phone uses Super TFT instead of Super AMOLED.
