And off it pops out from a capsule rolling out of a vending machine! Yes, from the country which brought you banana vending machines, here comes a ‘Crab in a capsule’ vending machine.

And it’s a ‘masterpiece’ (if you consider the bizarre idea as one) from an entrepreneur in Nanjing, China. He somehow stuffed some ‘Shanghai Hairy Crabs’ into the vending machine, where they’re ‘hibernated’ at 5⁰ Celsius, and is sold for ¥120 – ¥600 (pending on weight I presume). That’s pretty much 30-percent cheaper than local retail price, in a country where their seafood market is considered the biggest in the world.

Oddly, even the local Japanese media seemed to find this atypical, yet from a country where their vending machines pop out liquor and pornography and watermelons and lobsters. But the oddest would be this tagline ‘compensation of three if your crab is dispensed in a “dead” condition’. How on Earth is the boss going to compensate? Yet I though vending machines are those ‘leave them there and they’ll sell’ things.
