Western Digital Live Hub with 1TB storage

Western Digital is no stranger to the market when it comes to media streaming in the living room. Their solution seemed to be rather good compared to others. But now, they’ve updated their new lineup for the living room with this new WD TV Live Hub, and is easily Western Digital’s most feature-packed streamer yet, with a 1TB HDD within for storing you-know-what.

There’s an Ethernet socket for pulling down content via the web or your local network, and a pair of USB ports allow for storage expansion or transfers. No problem handling Netflix, YouTube, Pandora, Blockbuster on Demand and UPnP / DLNA streaming to your favourite game console, but the lack of inbuilt WiFi (it’s available via an optional adapter) puts a mild damper on an otherwise fantastic sounding product. It’s available immediately around the globe, for $199.99 directly from WD or at Best Buy. Now, if you want to have a video hub in your living room, and a HTPC would look too outstanding or overdoing, then I guess this is your best bet. Poke a wireless adapter into its back, and you’re reading to stream Full HD videos to your new Sony 3D LCD TV.
