An iPhone user is throwing a lawsuit to Apple Inc., and it’s a first from a South Korean. What’s more, she’s only 13. She’s demanding that the U.S. handset maker pay repair costs for her damaged phone, court officials said Tuesday.
The 13-year-old, identified only by her family name Lee, bought an iPhone 3G in February that broke months later. She took her damaged device to an authorized repair shop earlier this month, but was rejected, making her cry a river. The company said that she dropped the smartphone in water. It said the colour of a tag attached to the side of the phone changed to red, meaning that the phone had contact with water. Read more…

And CEO Steve Jobs got a blow. That’s how he described it. “Blown away!” Apple’s overpriced yet wildly popular gadgets and computers has propelled the company to a whole new all=time sales record of $20 billion as Apple announced its fourth-quarter results on Monday. But Apple CEO Steve Jobs promised more magic to come: “We still have a few surprises left for the remainder of this calendar year.” Read more…

This is a Dropbox, in real life. Yes, it performs just like the Dropbox that we’re so used to, but it also has other features. This is the N-Transfer from NTT Japan, and it has only one sole purpose, that is to unite Japan’s USB 2.0 storage devices, scanners and printers firmly in the cloud, without the need for an intermediate computer. A typical alarm clock is too old-fashion for you, and using your smartphone to wake you up is not cool enough. So here comes a 3.5-inch touchscreen Internet Clock Radio, which provides ‘endless entertainment’ besides screaming at you to wake you up, and tell you that it’s going to rain heavily and you’re gonna miserably get stuck in a massive jam due to the rain.
Well, you may also wake up to the morning crew broadcast by this clock, or perhaps view some snazzy photos downloaded from Picasa. What else does a clock have? Built-in battery, SD card reader, and 802.11g wireless do conspire to make it reasonably independent. Alright, LCD TV is getting integrated WiFi, but a clock? God! Are we already there? Ok, I’m so excited now and waiting anxiously for someone to launch a hovering car like in i-Robot. Or you can just listen to some radio talk show with this $99 Internet Radio Show.

And you thought that Sony Ericsson would sit quietly and let Nokia claim the crown in smartphone’s camera sensor? The Nokia N8’s awesome 12-Megapixel sensor will soon get pawned by Sony’s new 16.4-Megapixel CMOS sensor. This would obviously find its way into their famous camera phone lineup, namely the Cyber-shot S006 smartphone. Read more…

Yes, there’s an app for everything (almost), and that phrase line is getting stretched even further now. Your iPhone can now control LEDs. That’s only limited to the iGlo LED Set thought. It comes with WiFi-enabled, and has a strip of 120 multi-color LEDs, measuring some five meters in length. The package includes iPhone and iPad apps that can control them, for a price of $299. Well, at least that’s money well spent, which will make you the most outstanding guy in the room. It might just end your nerdy virgin life. Read more…

We’ve seen Android embracing in-flight entertainment, and printers, and now they’ll probably mass invade the PMP (portable media player) market. This is not the first time we come across an Android PMP though. What’s this? Some might know, but some don’t. This is Archos 43, an Android-based portable media player with a 4.3-inch touchpanel, support for a zillion (give or take) file formats, an HDMI output and integrated WiFi. Archos said that it’s going to ship in ‘mid-October’, but if we look at the calendar, the pre-order doesn’t seem to support Archos’s claim. The 16GB model is available for you to claim for $249.99. Let’s see when it’ll arrive if you pre-order now.

Not impressed by Steve Jobs’s miniature glossy Apple TV? Well, let the numbers convince you once again. Straight from the mouth of CEO Steve Jobs: “I can report that we’ve sold a quarter million Apple TVs.” That’s 250,000 if you weren’t sure of the numbers. That’s quite an impressive number for a device that’s only been shipped for 18 days. But if you compare it to Apple’s other staggering numbers of 300,000 iPad sold on day one, and millions of iPhone sold on day one, it’s still getting dwarfed by its siblings.

Remember the bouncing tank in Metal Slug? Here’s a Lego RC tank inspired by SNK’s classic Metal Slug series, and yes it is pretty impressive all by itself. But Lego builder Peer Kreuger apparently isn’t satisfied by being simply impressive. He wants more. So, he decided to take the tank, dubbed “Metal Grudge,” to a skateboard ramp and film it in action with the aid of a remote-controlled Lego camera rig, which he also naturally built himself.

ECO- friendly products, I didn’t know companies are still doing this gimmick. Yes car manufacturers are trying to mass produce electric cars, but how does a monitor save the world? NEC’s new MultiSync EX231W may not look very sexy to you, but it is very eco-friendly, or so they say. Read more…
