Super Talent’s latest gold plated Pico-C Special Edition is really ‘special’.

This product is the proof that those filthy rich needs to show their status in any situation, in any condition. Super Talent’s new 24k gold plated USB flash drive should be of no problem to proof to others that you’re a high profile person. They’re not your ordinary 1GB handy drive smacked with some gimmicky gold plating too. This is a 64GB USB flash drive, dubbed the Pico-C Special Edition, and has water resistant. Sadly it’s running on USB 2.0 interface. It’d be better if such high class product comes with the latest tech, which is USB 3.0 interface. Super Talent records a speed of 30MB/s and 15MB/s, which are really nothing to shout at if you’ve seen drives utilizing USB 3.0. Measuring 31.3mm x 12.4mm x 3.4mm and weighing less than 6g, the Pico-C Special Edition is now available for pre-order for 172 Euro (about $240). Seriously, not your ordinary handy drive.

AT&T's new USB modems include HSPA+ and LTE-upgradeable.

LTE seemed to be the 4G that everyone is waiting for. Yes, we might have Wimax around, but many telcos seemed to be leaning over to LTE instead. AT&T might not have their LTE network up yet, but they’re already preparing new USB modem for it. AT&T has just announced their new USBConnect Adrenaline modem, sourced from LG. While it’s 3G-capable, this modem is upgradeable to LTE in 2011 when LTE is fully geared up. In the meantime, you get HSPA, a microSD slot with support for up to 32GB, and GPS. If you’re in US, it’s up and running for $49.99 on contract. Read more…

iFixit praises Nokia N8 as the ‘beefiest’ phone of the year

This is fast. The iFixit team had their paws on the fairly new Nokia N8, and already, they’re dissecting it. That’s what they’re good at, anyway. The battery of the N8, BL-4D battery cell can be easily replaced by removing the two Torx screws. iFixit mentioned that the N8’s overall construction is the “beefiest” of any phone this year. Thought, the pair of camera modules are not removable from the main board. The N8 sports similar touchscreen controllers in the Kin two and the BlackBerry Torch.
