Intel quietly launches new X25-M G2 SSD

Intel is adding a new member to its X25-M G2 SSD lineup with this new 120GB model. The new SSDs are an X25-M G2 drive whose full name is SSDSA2MH120G2K5 and which boasts the 2.5-inch form factor. It is a sibling to the two existing models, whose internal capacities are of 80GB and 120GB, respectively.
This 2.5-inch SSD also comes with 34nm MLC NAND Flash memory chips constructed on the 34nm manufacturing process technology, an Intel controller and promises to deliver read and write speeds of up to 250MB/s and 70MB/s, respectively. It’s sad to know that Intel is still sticking to SATA 3 Gbps interface when SandForce is already moving to SATA 6 Gbps which will boost speeds up incredibly. The 120GB X25-M G2 SSD is currently available in Europe for 210 Euro (about $291).
