2 million Beatles song sold in a week at iTunes

Now we know why Apple has been struggling to get the Beatles into their iTunes store, despite a 7 years hu-ha. That’s because the Beatles sells! After a week of appearing in iTunes for the first time, the Fab Four sold 2 million iTunes!
Yes, that’s about 2,000,000 Beatles songs sold in a week in US’s largest online music store. Fans (old and young) of the four dudes that revolutionize rock n roll music wasted no time in downloading their favorite tracks. Apple has announced that iTunes has seen the sale of 2,000,000 Beatles tracks and 450,000 Beatles albums in the first week of their availability.
When Apple announced it had struck a deal that would finally bring the Beatles to iTunes, the news doesn’t seem all that inspiring despite having Apple making it looked huge in a way. Oddly, it didn’t look exactly trembling with excitement. Sure, it was good news and fans had been waiting nearly a decade to see the lads from Liverpool on iTunes, but we figured most people would have ripped their Beatles CD collection a long time ago. Surprisingly, it seems some people were standing by, ready to pounce on the digitized Beatles back catalog as soon as possible, after all these times.

The top ten selling Beatles tracks on iTunes at the moment are as follows:

  1. “Here Comes the Sun”
  2. “Come Together”
  3. “Let it be”
  4. “In My Life”
  5. “Blackbird”
  6. “Something”
  7. “With a Little Help from My Friends”
  8. “Yesterday”
  9. “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds”
  10. “Dear Prudence”
