What’s the use of electric cars? To go green without the need of conventional fuel, or at least getting more miles out of the fuel with assists from electric motors on the wheels. Common sedans and hatchbacks get around 30 mpg (miles per gallon), while some cars will manage over 40 mpg, which is a rare sight. Hyundai promises that all their lineup of cars will have minimum of 40 mpg soon. But now, Nissan Leaf has received the official EPA stickers with a 99 mpg smile. That’s breaks down into 106 in city and 92 for highway. Read more…
But didn’t mention when, but probably after 2012 when the world ends and everything is reborn. Harold Goldberg carries an article at New York Videogame Critics Circle, which is featured in Kotaku. In the article he talked about an interview with Microsoft’s Frank O’Connor. The first thing O’Connor said when they sat down was “There will be a Halo movie”. Read more…
Yes the Kinect from Microsoft can officially track the movements of your head, your hands, and your knees (and fingers, though rumored to be removed by Microsoft). But all thanks to the open source driver, we can now get all sorts of funky concept onto the Kinect. It is now able to detect boobs.
Well, almost. Dan Wilcox, the person how hacked it stated that “the computer searches for my manboobs and draws a bra or pasties on top, and music is played when titties are detected”.
He further explains that the Kinect is not actually detecting boobies, but more of ‘guessing’ where they are by detecting other body parts, like a person’s hands in space, and then track their movements to guess the most appropriate location. “It looks for a person-sized blob and use it’s centroid to approximate a search box wherein to detect 2 boobs”.
Well I’m not sure why this is released, but probably to serve those impatient folks with very short lifespan left. iOS 4.2.1 was still in GM seed, and now the Dev-Team has come up with a new redsnow version 0.9.6b4 jailbreak, which is based on Geohot’s Limera1n bootrom exploit. This is still not a final jailbreak as it still needs tethering. That means requiring your iPhone4, iPad, and newer iPhone 3GS and iPod touch to reattach to a PC or Mac to boot into a jailbroken state each time your device loses power or needs a reboot. Not as simple as navigating to a site and jailbreaking with a swipe. Our recommends is to hold off for now, until the ‘untethered’ version is out. But if you’re the curious type or the impatient type with aging white hairs, you can still have a try with it by following the link at the source.
A very nice ads for EA’s latest game Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit. Here’s two valet drivers driving at 5mph daily, dreaming about pawning each other. Read more…
Think that Hot Pursuit is quite fun? Well, I’ll have to take away a few points for the lack of storyline and some CG cut scenes. But Electronic Arts seemed to be going rather ‘all out’; at least they’re trying to, in the commercial side. Probably don’t want to lose out to Microsoft’s big budget Kinect advertisements. The giant game studio just had two of the world’s most exotic supercar going ‘cop chasing bad guy’ over at Italy’s backyard. Read more…

Corsair has announced a new Vengeance lineup for what they do best, memory. The Vengeance is just a new lineup of RAM with a new heatspreader design, targeting both Intel and AMD systems with the need for speed and stability. If you look at the speed of the Vengeance RAMs, they’re all rated at 1600MHz, unlike the Dominator’s 2000MHz and above ratings. Clearly they’re not your extreme type of RAM which caters for gamers and enthusiasts that wants to overclock their RAM. Read more…
Games were never realistic. Take Call of Duty for example. One bullet to scratch your leg and you’ll be screaming in agony. But you can still get few hits and run around with no problem. That’s game for you. Then again, if a veteran marine guy criticizes your game poster, that’s going to be a good laugh.
Black Ops’s cover features some dude carrying two rifles while holding onto two guns. Looks rather cool, with one of the pistol having some ‘love’ carves. Seemed brutal enough for a warfare game, but not to a veteran of both the Vietnam War and various Black Ops assignments for the US military, former Marine Lt. Colonel Wolfgang Hammersmith. Yes, that’s some very awesome name for a marine, probably the manliest name. let’s see what he has to say about the cover of the game that sold 6 million copies in the first few days. Read more…
