Here’s a wooden case to prot… wait… to hold your MacBook. Yes, that’s more like it. To protect? No, I don’t think a wooden case can actually protect your MacBook. Looks classy and fashionable yet but to carry around as a case? I just don’t fancy carrying something that hard around. But Blackbox proved me wrong.
These Blackbox Wooden Macbook Pro Cases might look very beautiful and luxurious, but they only weighs 1.5 pounds and can withstand weight of up to 60 pounds on top without crushing your notebook. Well, if you’re into wooden fashion, then this Blackbox Wooden Macbook Pro Cases will surely entice your flavour, with a price of USD129. Handcrafted in Golden Colorado and each case is hand oiled, hand sanded and lined with felt for protection.
Here’s another awesome Kinect hack by Oliver Kreylos, where this time he shows two Kinect combined to perform some awesome 3D moves. Here we have a demonstration of two Kinects can be paired and their output meshed — one basically filling in the gaps of the other. He found that the two do create some interference, the dotted IR pattern of one causing some holes and blotches in the other, but when the two are combined they basically help each other out and the results are quite impressive. As you can see in the video after the break, Oliver is able to rotate the camera perspective and basically film himself from a new camera angle that exists somewhere in between the position of the two Kinects, and do-so in real-time. The quality is still something that’s not impressive as of this age, but then again do remember that the very-hackable-friendly Kinect is originally intended for you to play some simple games only and probably hurt your own hand or head by hitting it accidentally to the ceiling.
2 hours. Most probably you can finish one standard movie as these days they end before the 2 hours mark. That is if you exclude those extended Avatar movies and what not. Great, because you can just use one battery to watch a standard DVD movie, and change a new one if you’re on a marathon. That’s if you’re using Toshiba’s new Power TV.
Toshiba just announced its new Power TV family of battery-powered LED TVs. They’re not your small 10-inch colour TV. Toshiba’s PC 1 sets are pushing 32- or 24-inches and are the world’s first (according to Toshiba) to integrate a rechargeable battery good for about two hours of power. The sets feature “auto signal booster” tech to enhance viewing in areas with weak signal coverage and “auto view” to optimize the picture based on ambient lighting conditions. Toshiba is also announcing its new 55-inch 55ZL800 3D LED flagship TV with new multiprocessor CEVO Engine as well as its 29-mm deep WL700 series of slim LED TVs available in 46- and 55-inch models. Now you can bring a Toshiba TV for your fire camp. Just remember the batteries.
Remember when National Geographic took all its collection and stuff it into a hard disk and sell it? Now here comes a copycat, but I’m sure it’ll sell well for this one. Hugh Heffner’s legacy has taken a cue from National Geographic, in a less-animal method, and partnered with publisher Bondi Digital to release a (presumably Seagate-branded) 250GB external hard drive packed with every issue of Playboy released since 1953.
The price? USD 300 and it’s roughly four times more than your standard empty 250GB hard drive, but compared to a 57-year subscription, the digital vault is certainly a bargain. But I’m sure you’ll kill yourself more when this hard drive failed you, more than your ‘common’ hard drive dying.
The Australians love their superchargers and their Maloo, but one thing they loved most, is skateboarding. What’s more if it’s powered by a V8 engine from a supercar? Here comes an oversized skateboard powered by a 630-horsepower V8 engine developed by an Australian car racing organization. It will be in Sydney from Dec. 3-5 to attend a race. And the skateboard will be on public display during that time. Just don’t try to get onboard it mate. Ya don’t wanna get hurt ya know?
Yes there are lots of laws to control our lives, especially on the road. Probably to protect us. But do you think everybody heeds to the law? Well the truth is, a large number does not even know of its existence. That’s why the New York City Department of Transportation takes creative advertisement and put it to good use. Not only does NYC DOT want you to know of the existence of the law, they want you to know why. Now, I don’t think many would actually bother to remember it, but at least these waves of commercial will at least remind you of the danger of speeding, not in a very
Microsoft has reported 2.5 million Kinect sold since day one till now, which is about 25 days. This number of course includes the Kinect sold during the Black Friday sales in the weekend that just passed. Probably lots of people are very interested in hacking the Kinect for other usage. Microsoft says it’s on pace to sell 5 million Kinect units through this holiday.
