Sandy Bridge comes closer as Asus shows off motherboard lineup

How close is Sandy Bridge? Intel’s 32nm processor which is the ‘tock’ in the cycle will replace currently renowned Westmere, bringing new microarchitecture to the mass. Asus is here to show off their full lineup for Sandy Bridge once it becomes available, and the most eye-catching ones would be the ‘made tough’ TUF-looking Sabertooth P67 motherboard with some funky ceramic and military technology. Very gimmicky from Asus as usual. It comes with an extended five-year warranty, “military-grade” electrical components, a litany of thermal sensors, and of course that Tactical Jacket up top. Beyond its obvious visual appeal, the Jacket serves to channel airflow throughout the board, aiding the cooling of more peripheral components. Read more…

Samsung Galaxy Tab torn down with some heat

Well, it’s about time the Galaxy Tab gets its turn to be molested by the crew of iFixit. The Galaxy Tab was dubbed as the iPad-Killer despite being a few inches smaller. Odd isn’t it, picking a fight with someone bigger in size. Then again, the Tab has its own unique features too, like the Gorilla Glass at the front panel, which took quite a bit of heat before getting ripped off. The Tab’s back panel is also made of plastic, unlike the iPad, thus removing the need for ‘creative’ design of the antenna. Other than that, there seemed to be nothing that can stop the hands of the crew from iFixit to rip them apart. Check out the complete guide over at the source.

iOS 4.2 delayed due to WiFi connection issue

It seemed that all you iOS device users that are anxious for the arrival of iOS 4.2 will have to take a stroll at the park for few more days, or weeks. Anyway, Apple has delayed the arrival of iOS 4.2 due to a reported WiFi connection bug in the Golden Master version. The WiFi connection was able to be established, but once connected; they can’t do anything on the net. Thus, Apple has now resolved the coding issue and re-released the Golden master iOS 4.2 again. No word on exactly when a new version will be available, but it should still drop within the next few weeks.

iPad’s unlimited usage scenario

November 15th, 2010

We’ve seen people stuffing their brand new iPad into a case mod resembling some consoles, and we’ve also seen many people sticking their iPad in their cars. Even BMW and Mercedes do that. But now, an uncle in Lithuania has gone so creative to use his iPad in a protest. It’s a protest against the country’s emigration policy. The guy’s actually smart enough to encase his iPad inside a plastic bag before sticking it on a stick! In this kind of time, you’d wish Apple had launched a 15-inch tablet, or the iWall.

Play a game of falling stuff on your iPad using your iPhone to control

November 15th, 2010

‘Creative peeps run wild’ would be the tagline here, but sadly Apple does not approve it. If they do, then I don’t know what kind of fun we will see in our i-devices. The developers of The Incident are showing off the upcoming 1.3 build of their ultra-addictive falling objects platformer, which allows for an iPhone controlling the game while it’s running on an iPad, which is in turn outputting video to the TV.
