AMD GPU roadmap reviewed

Nvidia has launched their refined Fermi, the GT110-based GTX580. Dubbed as what the GTX480 should be during launch, it nabbed the king of DirectX 11 single chip card easily. However, AMD wouldn’t sit quietly and let them have all the fun. Typical GPU war, AMD has announced during their financial analyst day the roadmap for their Radeon cards, thus making them official. There’ll be two new high-end GPUs coming next month, and one final master of all in the first quarter of 2011. Read more…

Windows Phone 7 USB tethering available afterall

When Windows Phone 7 was launched, a main feature for smartphone was missing, and that is USB tethering. But now, apparently you can have that feature back, if you happen to have a Samsung Focus or Omnia 7. That’s because some sites have found a way to go around the removed feature and enable it. It’s a quick and relatively easy hack to enable using your handset as a 3G modem on Microsoft’s new platform. Read more…

AirPrint’s future not yet over, says Steve Jobs.

Just because AirPrint was missing in some developer’s iOS 4.2, doesn’t mean it’s been pulled away. Well, at least that’s what Steve Jobs said, because he was asked by one disgruntled user to clarify that. Read more…

The Boxee Box gets unboxed by iFixit

The Boxee Box by D-Link was just officially launched not too long ago, and it’s already been tamed by the folks over at iFixit. The Boxee Box has pretty much the same function as the Google TV, which is streaming videos from the net. So, the hardware doesn’t different a lot really. Read more…

The Galaxy Tab to have Super AMOLED screen after all?

Maybe, or maybe not. Nobody knows besides Samsung. Because they’ve been nonstop teasing us with some very sexy Super-AMOLED panel on a tablet. It’s the same 7-inch size as the Galaxy Tab, but sports 1200 x 600 resolution, so don’t be surprise if the Tab gets a Super-AMOLED screen very soon.

Pinky and the Brain got a new job!

When people say that they use rats to sniff out deadly landmines, there’s no surprise if you think they let the mouse loose to run around and probably step on the mines, and go kaboom, indirectly helping humans to clear mines. But you’d be wrong, because they’re too light to trigger the mines. Then what?

APOPO, a Dutch organization operational in Tanzania, is training baby rats to become mine-sniffers. Apparently, they’re more efficient and affordable to train compared to dogs, and they’ve already proven their stuff in neighbouring Mozambique, where they’ve successfully cleared patches of land. Comparing to trained humans that can clear a 2000 square foot minefield in a full day, these rodents can do it in just two hours. Read more…

Playstation 3’s new Bluetooth headset has a blue ring

Though it has been quite late into the market, Sony is updating its old and ugly Bluetooth headset design with some elegant touch. Spec wise, there’s dual mics, USB pairing, in-game status indicator, a charge cradle that doubles as a desktop mic, and of course, a giant mute button for when your mum comes nagging at you. It’s also smaller and glossier. Price wise, there are no changes; it’s still the good ol’ $49.99 price tag. It’s coming at the end of this month, or even as early as next week.
