Well, it’s hard for audio system’s exterior design to get outdated. I mean, how can speakers get outdated when their drivers are round? It’s been like that for centuries. Yes, your audio speakers might look so futuristic with some funky triangular shapes and some added neon lighting, but retro looks still get dig by people.
Onkyo’s latest are designed just like that, for minuscule offices, studio apartments and your everyday bedroom, with the CS-V645 DVD / CD mini system leading the way. No funky spaceship designs, but they just look awesome. This guy’s got an iPod / iPhone docking station on the top, a USB port on the front, built-in FM radio tuner and support for MP3, WMA, JPEG, and DivX file formats. It’ll also upscale content to 1080p over the HDMI output and a remote for good though so that you can change the stations and volume and lots of stuff when you’re lying on your bed. The CD-only CS-445 is practically identical save for its incompatibility with DVD and the removal of its USB socket, but as with its older brother, it boasts a 40-watt amplifier and a pair of two-way loudspeakers. The CS-V645 is expected to crash in early December for $399, while the CS-445 reaches retailers this month for $329.
Nokia’s long awaited push-up QWERTY version of their latest N8 is finally ready to go live next month. Nokia has announced at their official Twitter account that the 4-inch tilting QWERTY handset — a phone Espoo has labeled the true successor to the storied Communicator series — will start shipping out on the 10th of next month, though exact availability dates and times will undoubtedly vary a bit from market to market.
Here comes yet another assault from Motorola to the Android market, and they’re aiming at QWERTY fans this time. Coming under Verizon, the Droid Pro will debut on November 18th. Price is set at $179.99 on a two-year contract, provided you’re happy to take care of a $100 mail-in rebate. Moto will be hoping business types lap this offer up, as it has equipped the Droid Pro with an unusual (outside of RIM’s realm) portrait QWERTY keyboard as well as a dual-mode CDMA/GSM wireless chip. A 3.1-inch display, 1GHz of processing power, and a 5 megapixel autofocus cam fill out the spec sheet. Well, it’s either a $179.99, or you can wait for those single ones that had no spouse.

This new Bluetooth headset looks awesome! Instead of the typical boxy Bluetooth headsets that sticks out of our ear, this new Jabra’s Stone2 are equal strangeyet elegant to give you some class in fashion sense.

However, the Stone2′s now a completely touch-free experience to use. This new ‘touch-only’ experience will cost you $129.99, and you can get it from the 21st of this month onwards.
Still have your iPhone 3G hanging around? Then you’ll surely hate Steve Jobs for the iOS 4 that nearly killed your 3G. Not only did he left out some cool stuff from the 3G in iOS 4, but there’s also a serious performance hit that made quite some big hu-ha. That was slightly improved by the launch of iOS 4.1, but it seemed that now your iPhone 3G will be getting a ‘reborn’ with the iOS 4.2. Read more…
Things sure are heating up between LG and Samsung for the display war. Now, LG is officially entering the burgeoning color electronic paper market by displaying not one, but two color prototype displays at FPD International in Japan. Both are 9.7-inches diagonal, the first being fully color with an 800 x 600 resolution — which just happens to exactly match the specs of E Ink’s latest. The second, however, is only partly color, the top three quarters being monochrome with a 1200 x 1200 resolution, augmented by a 200 x 600 color strip at the bottom. It’s an interesting offering, a layout not unlike the Nook but all on a single display. Obviously there’s no mention of price and availability as these are just prototype demo of technology.
And that’s extremely true! This picture is apparently taken in the Kennedy Space Center, and this is the thing that’ll fly you to space, if you can hold onto it while it blasts off.
